I come from a family of musicians: my father was a composer, my mother a pianist. As a young man my father met, Puccini who was a family friend, and got the inspiration to become himself a composer.
He wrote three Operas, a lot of Symphonic, Piano and Chamber Music.
My father told me wonderful stories about Toscanini and other great musicians he had met is his life. He also taught me about composing, how to write for Orchestra and many tricks of the trade. He was very proud that I took the Flute.
My mother would have preferred me to become a Pianist like herself. She studied with a distinguished Russian Pianist who were friend with Cortot, Rubinstein and Oistrakh. She had a great career both as a soloist and a teacher. She taught me the piano, but I preferred the Flute.
